VOLUNTEER WITH JAG PRODUCTIONS

JAG Productions is seeking individuals to grow its volunteer base to support the work of the Staff and Producing Artistic Director. Volunteers are essential to the fabric of JAG Productions, providing much needed skills and insight. Volunteering is also a great way to share and further develop your skills and passion with others in the community and to meet like-minded people.

JAG Productions is currently seeking volunteers to fill the roles of Box Office Manager and House Manager. 

Box Office Manager

The Box Office Manager is one of the primary contacts between the general public and JAG Productions. The Box Office Manager sells tickets, trains ticketing staff and acts as the first line-customer service representative.

  • Time Commitment: 3 - 4 hours per JAG event. Primarily nights and weekends.*

  • Duties & Responsibilities: Perform basic ticketing duties; Add new customers to ticketing database; Deal with issues and complaints brought forward by customers; Supervise box office staff and ticket collectors; Maintains accuracy in all financial transactions; Work closely with House Manager to ensure events run smoothly; Attend occasional JAG staff meetings.

  • Desired Skills & Experience: Excellent skills in customer relations, communications and problem solving; Excellent ​Cash handling skills; Ability to apply concepts of basic math on a calculator or adding machine and make correct change; Management skills; Must be able to lift 40 pounds; Must possess some knowledge of computer applications and be prepared to become skilled at JAG's software program.

*Box Office Manager is not needed for all JAG events and event run times may vary*

House Manager

The House Manager is in charge of the "front of the house,” which includes audience seating and the lobby. 

  • Time Commitment: 3 - 4 hours per JAG event. Primarily nights and weekends.*

  • Duties & Responsibilities: Ensure the theatre is clean and presentable for the audience; Setting up lobby and posting required signage; Supervise ushers; Work closely with Box Office Manager to ensure events run smoothly; Works closely with the box office manager to resolve customer complaints regarding tickets; Ensure the safety of the audience and staff members while in the front of the house; Ensure that the theatre observes all fire and safety codes and maintains a clear path for the actors if they need to walk through any part of the front of the house during events; Attend occasional JAG staff meetings.

  • Desired Skills & Experience: Excellent skills in customer relations, communications and problem solving; Management skills; Must be able to lift 40 pounds; Must possess some knowledge of computer applications and be prepared to become skilled at JAG's software program.
