THE GROUND ON WHICH I STAND is the title of one of August Wilson's seminal speeches, and the title of this award-winning film about his life and writings. The documentary premiered on February 20, 2015 to commemorate the 70th anniversary of Wilson's birth, the 10th anniversary of his death, and Black History Month.
